Johns Hopkins Hosts Virtual Fireside Chat with Sudip Parikh, CEO of AAAS, World’s Largest Scientific Society

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine welcomes Sudip Parikh, CEO of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and executive publisher of the Science family of journals, for a virtual fireside chat on July 28 to discuss the role of artificial intelligence in advancing research, the future of science in the U.S., and the next generation of scientific leaders. Theodore DeWeese, interim dean of the medical faculty and CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine, will host the conversation.
WHAT: The discussion, part of the Johns Hopkins Health Policy Forum series, will reflect on ways to build trust among scientists and communities, counter misinformation, catalyze science-informed decisions and promote policies that enable quality science.

WHO: Sudip Parikh became the 19th CEO of AAAS and executive publisher of the Science family of journals in January 2020. A former science adviser to the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee (2001–2009), Parikh has spent two decades at the nexus of science, policy and business.
