Johns Hopkins Rehabilitation Network Opens New Therapy Clinic at acac Fitness and Wellness Center
05/14/2018
This new clinic helps patients progress beyond treatment and restoration of basic functionality to a lifestyle of regular physical activity and, in some cases, advanced athletic training. There are only a handful of gyms in the state of Maryland that have a program like this.
“It means a great deal for our institution to be able to bring care like this to the community,” says Pablo Celnik, M.D., professor and director of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. “This is especially exciting because we can provide better medical supervision when patients remain on a path of wellness and continuous exercise.”
The new location has 2,400 square feet of clinical space, which will house physical and occupational therapists who treat a wide range of orthopedic, neurological, gait/balance, vestibular and pain disorders. The clinic will have private and open treatment programs and will include direct access to the acac Fitness & Wellness center’s health club.
An open house and ribbon cutting are planned to celebrate the opening of the center.
