Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Sibley Memorial Hospital, another member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, have been recognized by Premier Inc. for reducing preventable hospital-acquired conditions (HACs) and readmissions, as part of their participation during the federal Partnership for Patients (PfP) Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) 2.0 initiative.

During the national HEN 2.0 initiative, Premier’s HEN worked with more than 450 hospitals to meet goals in 11 harm areas and make improvement in 30-day readmissions.

Johns Hopkins Bayview is one of 22 hospitals to receive the Premier Partnership for Patients HEN 2.0 Award for being in the top 10 percent of HEN 2.0 hospitals based on its score in the 11 harm areas associated with HACs and readmissions. Johns Hopkins Bayview was recognized during Premier’s annual Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition in Washington, D.C.

In the fall of 2016, Premier was named as one of 16 Hospital Improvement Innovation Networks (HIINs) to continue the work of the national PfP initiative and the success of its HEN. The Premier HIIN has a large national footprint and is currently working with more than 465 hospitals and health systems across 40 states in an iterative journey to improve the delivery of safe, reliable care for every patient, every time.
