Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital was named as a top children’s hospital for patient safety and quality by The Leapfrog Group, a national watchdog organization of employers and other purchasers widely acknowledged as the toughest standard-setters for health care safety and quality. It is the third time in four years the hospital has been named to the list, and Johns Hopkins All Children’s remains as the only pediatric hospital in the Tampa Bay area named to this prestigious list.

“Patient safety is always our top priority, and we are honored that The Leapfrog Group recognizes our commitment to meeting the highest standards of patient safety, quality clinical care, and excellence in patient and family experience,” says Alicia Schulhof, M.H.A., FACHE, president of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. “This is a tribute to our team and the patients and families we have the privilege of serving.”

Nearly 2,400 hospitals were considered for Leapfrog honors with only eight pediatric hospitals among the 134 selected as Top Hospitals. Top Hospitals qualifying for the distinction, must rank top among peers on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which assesses hospital performance on the highest standards for quality and patient safety, and achieve top performance in its category.
