Congratulations to Dr. Shivani Ahlawat and Dr. Laura Fayad! The faculty members have been recognized in Baltimore Magazine's Annual Top Doctors issue. Each year, Baltimore Magazine publishes its Top Doctors list recognizing accomplished physicians across the area. The selection process is rigorous, with hundreds of physicians nominated by their peers. 

Dr. Fayad serves as chief of musculoskeletal imaging and director of the Translational Research Program in the Department of Radiology. She is a professor specializing in diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal radiology. Her research focuses on novel imaging techniques for musculoskeletal tumors. Her work has been featured in more than 100 publications that have been cited more than 1,500 times. She has been named a Top Doctor several times before, including in 2020 and 2023

Dr. Ahlawat is the director of the department’s Musculoskeletal Fellowship Program. She is an assistant professor whose expertise is in diagnostic radiology with training in pediatric and musculoskeletal radiology. She specializes in high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging of peripheral nerves and advanced MR techniques such as quantitative diffusion weighted imaging and apparent diffusion coefficient mapping in characterization of bone and soft tissue tumors. She has been selected as a Top Doctor for the past three consecutive years.
