Our community has been devastated by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. As you and your loved ones recover, Johns Hopkins All Children’s is here to support you.

There are a variety of resources available to the community. Some of these include:

Baby Supply Distribution

Many community members faced significant damage and loss due to the recent hurricanes. To help fill the gap on baby supplies, we are working with the Juvenile Welfare Board to distribute diapers, wipes, ointment and more.

Those in need are encouraged to pick up a free bag of supplies using the drive-thru service at the Business and Technology (BAT) Building on our main campus – 550 9th Avenue South in St. Petersburg – during the following dates and times, while supplies last.

  • Thursday, Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 5 to 7 p.m.

We will also provide free car seats and booster seats to families who were affected by the hurricanes. To participate, register in advance. Once availability is confirmed, you will receive an email with pickup instructions. First come, first served. Additional dates may be announced as supplies permit.

  • Thursday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m.

Thank you to the Juvenile Welfare Board for helping support this important community need.

Supporting Your Children’s Mental Health During Difficult Times

As you and your family cope with the impacts of the hurricanes, there are things you can do to help your children navigate their emotions during this difficult time:

  • Let your children know you are there to talk about how they are feeling and answer any questions they have.
  • Provide them with accurate, age-appropriate information about what’s going on. Answer their questions briefly and honestly, and help them to understand they are safe.
  • Try your best to stay calm around your children as much as you can. When you’re calm, it will help your children feel more secure.
  • Sleep is important to our overall health and well-being, and it’s important especially in times of stress for everyone in your family to get good sleep.
