Courtney Conklin, R.N., on 8 South, is the DAISY Award recipient. She was nominated for this honor by a patient who wrote:

“As a teenager in the hospital, I don’t want my experience to only be about the medical side of things and Courtney made sure that didn’t happen! We talked about all of the fun things, and when I was in pain, those conversations helped. When I needed another IV or procedure, she was there holding my hand the entire time just to make sure I was okay. She made being in the hospital easy. Courtney is an amazing nurse who really went above and beyond for me.”

Courtney’s manager added:

“Courtney is a graduate of our Acute Care Fellowship Cohort and is very deserving of this award. Since the first day she stepped onto the unit, Courtney has brought a level of dedication and commitment that cannot be replicated. No matter what the ask, she is always willing to help and do what’s in the best interest of our patients. During her time with us, Courtney has demonstrated professionalism and is a true role model. We are so lucky to have her as part of our Pediatric Medicine family!”

Congratulations, Courtney, and thank you for your commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
