Graduation
Faculty, staff, students and their families came together earlier this month to celebrate as the Johns Hopkins Schools of Medical Imaging (SOMI) held its graduation ceremony earlier this month.

Fourteen trainees graduated across three programs – Radiography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Nuclear Medicine Technology.

The event included remarks by Mary Fasano, SOMI director, who expressed her pride and admiration for each of the graduating technologists, saying, “At Johns Hopkins, we set high standards and you have risen to meet and exceed them.”

The keynote address was offered by Peg Cooper, Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging operations director. She began her career as a technologist after graduating from the University of Wisconsin.

“My career choices would take me on journeys beyond what I thought possible,” she told the graduates.

“Being an imaging tech is much more than a job,” she added, noting that she is just as excited today as she was in that auditorium in Madison years ago.
Following these remarks, graduates from the three programs received diplomas and awards.
