By night, superheroes are known for fighting crime. But during a memorable week in September, they brought smiles and joy to patients at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center — all while washing windows.

“Superhero” window washers, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America and the Incredible Hulk from Skyclean, Inc., in Baltimore suited up in costumes and rappelled down the building to surprise patients. This special event was a fun and memorable experience for children who are hospitalized, their families and staff members, as superheroes interacted with them through the windows. Following the window-washing mission, the superheroes greeted patients inside the hospital.
