Johns Hopkins All Childrens Repeats Patient Safety Honor
Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital was named as a top children’s hospital for patient safety and quality by The Leapfrog Group, a national watchdog organization of employers and other purchasers widely acknowledged as the toughest standard-setters for health care safety and quality. It is the second year the hospital has been named to the list, and Johns Hopkins All Children’s remains as the only pediatric hospital in the Tampa Bay area named to this prestigious list.
“We are honored once again that The Leapfrog Group recognized our continuing dedication and efforts to patient safety and quality care,” says Alicia Schulhof, M.H.A., FACHE, president of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. “While we strive for the highest levels of patient safety, quality clinical care, and excellence in patient and family experience, we know our work is never done and will continue to communicate and survey our patients and families to provide the best and safest care possible.”
More than 2,200 hospitals were considered for Leapfrog honors with only 11 pediatric hospitals among the 115 selected as Top Hospitals. Top Hospitals qualifying for the distinction, must rank top among peers on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which assesses hospital performance on the highest standards for quality and patient safety, and achieve top performance in its category.
