Over the past year, Suburban staff were honored by many organizations and individuals for their efforts in serving on the front lines of the pandemic. Below is a montage honoring a few of the many Health Care Heroes at Suburban. Click on each image to learn more.
Quinn Collins, D.N.P., R.N., N.E.-B.C., and LeighAnn Sidone, D.N.P., R.N., C.E.N.P., were recognized by the Duquesne University School of Nursing for their dedication in leading Suburban’s efforts to respond to the surge of COVID-19 patients. Equally impressive is the fact that Quinn and LeighAnn were simultaneously working to complete the requirements for their Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Duquesne, which they finished in the midst of the first surge of the pandemic.
Local and state officials—including Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD 8th District) and Montgomery Council member Andrew Friedson—recognized the dedication of Suburban’s Health Care Heroes Cindy Notobartolo, M.S., B.S.N., C.H.E.P., H.E.M.; Art Pease M.S., R.N.; Greta Cuccia, B.S.N., R.N., CEN; and LeighAnn Sidone, D.N.P., R.N., C.E.N.P.
Kimberley Kelly, M.B.A., B.S.N.-R.N., C.C.R.N.-K., Nursing Director of Suburban’s Intensive Care Unit and Progressive Care Unit, highlighted Suburban’s efforts to care for patients with COVID-19 as part of Johns Hopkins Medicine’s “Extraordinary People. Extraordinary Moments” campaign in a video that garnered attention across the country.
FOX 5 journalist Holly Morris conducted an exclusive interview with Moira McCarthy, R.N., after her neighbors threw an impromptu, socially-distanced parade to cheer Moira on and thank her as she left for a shift at Suburban Hospital.
The September/October issue of Bethesda Magazine highlighted the nurses, physicians and other clinicians fighting to save lives during the pandemic, including Suburban’s own Nursing Heroes Kimberley Kelly, M.B.A., B.S.N., R.N., C.C.R.N.-K. and Laura Ventura, R.N., Progressive Care Unit.
