Emergency Preparedness: Know What’s Next with a Text
Since many people are so closely connected to their cellphones, receiving emergency notifications via phone is the most effective way to know how to stay safe and be prepared in emergency situations. In the event of a potential or actual disaster or other emergency, do you know if you would receive a text message informing you what to do? Confirm that your cellphone number is enrolled in the Johns Hopkins Emergency Alert System to receive important alerts by going to my.johnshopkins.edu and clicking on Emergency Alerts under the myprofile icon.
Medical Care for Employees, Day and Night
If you’re feeling under the weather and don’t have time to make an appointment with your health care provider, be sure to take advantage of medical services through the Employee Health and Wellness Center. Employees of The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System Corporation can make daytime or evening appointments for nonemergency, non-workrelated illnesses and injuries on the East Baltimore campus. The daytime clinic in Phipps 351 is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The After-Hours Employee Clinic offers extended hours Monday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m. The clinic is located in Blalock 144 and appointments can be made by calling 410-955-7374. For more information, visit the Health and Wellness Center website at hopkinsmedicine.org/human_resources/ benefits/healthy_at_hopkins/employee_health_wellness_center.html.
