With hospital chaplain David Whye officiating, Wendell and Rose Eve renewed their wedding vows at The Johns Hopkins Hospital on May 23. The surprise ceremony and reception were organized by Wendell’s caregivers in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The Eves had planned to celebrate their 25th anniversary in Hamilton, Bermuda, where they live. Instead, they exchanged vows at the hospital, where Wendell was recovering from a near-fatal aortic dissection he suffered on April 18. The couple returned to Bermuda in early June.
