The institute was founded with gifts of $50 million each from Michael Bloomberg and Sidney Kimmel, and $25 million from more than a dozen additional supporters. It supports advances in cancer immunotherapy, a central element of the Obama administration’s new cancer moonshot initiative.
Biden, Bloomberg and Gov. Larry Hogan were among the speakers at the event in the Anne and Mike Armstrong Medical Education Building.
