Poom was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand before moving to the United States at the age of 18. He studied biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University prior to attending an MD/PhD program at Penn State College of Medicine. His passion lies in big data and AI research, specifically focusing his PhD on using omics technologies to diagnose and potentially treat incurable diseases. In his free time, Poom enjoys crafting delicious cold-pressed juices, weight lifting, and exploring new restaurants and cuisines.

Erica Moore, MD, PhD

Erica was raised in Warwick, NY. She attended Carnegie Mellon University, where she pursued a Bachelors of Science and Arts in Biology and French Horn performance. After doing two years of research in the National Institute for Arthritis, Musculoskeletal, and Skin diseases, Erica received her MD and PHD degrees from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is interested in rheumatology following her doctoral research in T cells and neuropsychiatric lupus. Beyond her excitement to learn alongside her residency colleagues, she enjoys hanging out with her partner and cat, as well as exploring the food culture in Baltimore.
Erica Moore
Evan Tracy, MD, PhD

Evan grew up in a winemaking family in Napa Valley, California, and obtained a major in Biology with minors in chemistry, music, and philosophy from Linfield University in McMinnville, Oregon. He was a Murdock Scholar and research assistant at Oregon Health & Science University where he studied echocardiography. He then pursued an MD/PhD at the University of Louisville where his dissertation focused on cellular therapeutic strategies to reverse the effects of post-menopausal aging on coronary microvascular function. Evan is excited to be a part of the Physician Scientist Program at Johns Hopkins where he looks forward to continued participation in emerging scientific advancements in understanding and treating cardiovascular disease. Outside of medicine, Evan enjoys playing rock and jazz on his guitar and saxophone, cooking and trying out new recipes, and going for walks and running along the beautiful Baltimore harbor promenade.
Evan Tracy
Timos Ziogos, MD

Timos was born and raised in Ioannina, Greece. He attended medical school at the University of Ioannina and, following his graduation, he moved to Baltimore to complete a four-year postdoctoral research fellowship in the Division of Cardiology at Hopkins. His research focused on the role of PCSK9 inhibition in acute coronary syndromes, the identification of protective immune factors in hyperlipidemia, and the assessment of coronary endothelial function using novel imaging modalities. As part of the Physician Scientist Pathway, he hopes to continue his work in cardiovascular translational science. Outside of the hospital, you can find him exploring the local food scene with his fiancée, making pizzas, or watching basketball games.

Liam Coyne, MD, PhD

Liam was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He studied Biochemistry at Cornell University before moving to Syracuse, NY for his MD and PhD training in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at SUNY Upstate. As part of the Osler Physician Scientist Pathway, he is exploring novel molecular pathways by which mitochondria contribute to chronic pulmonary diseases. Liam is also a proud husband and father and loves spending time with his family going for walks at Patterson Park and enjoying everything Baltimore has to offer.
Liam Coyne

Matthew Dong, MD, PhD

Matthew grew up in San Francisco and majored in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Immunology at UC Berkeley. Matthew then went to Yale School of Medicine where he pursued his medical degree and PhD in Immunolobiology. His research interest include cell-based immunotherapy, systems immunology, and immunogenetics. In his free time, he and his wife like to bike around Baltimore City and explore the DMV area for new places to eat.

Erik Faber, MD, PhD

Erik (he/him) grew up in a rural community outside of Rochester, NY before attending Dartmouth College, where he majored in biophysical chemistry and minored in English, developing a love for late Victorian literature. Afterwards, he was a high school science teacher in New York City before entering the MD/PhD program at the University of Minnesota Medical School. His PhD in medicinal chemistry focused on developing an allosteric kinase inhibitor for both cancer and male contraceptive indications. While in medical school, he fell in love with the subfield of GI oncology and hopes to explore this further as part of the Physician Scientist Pathway in the Osler residency. Outside of work, you can find Erik walking with his husband and their English bulldog, Conrad, in their quest to find the best ice cream in Baltimore.

Alessio Gasperetti, MD, PhD

Alessio was born and raised in Milan, Italy. In 2018 he graduated from the University of Milan Medical School. Since then, he has been involved in the field of cardiology. His research interests lie in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiomyopathies (Sudden Cardiac Death, ARVC, Desmoplakin, ICDs). Prior to his intern year, completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and a subsequent three-year ARVC fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University under the supervision of Dr. Hugh Calkins. Main interest outside of medicine are football, pasta making, and breweries.

Paola Ghanem, MD

Paola was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. She went to the Lebanese American University where she majored in biology and later joined the American University of Beirut to obtain her medical degree. After her medical training, Paola moved to Johns Hopkins University to pursue a two-year postdoctoral research training in thoracic oncology and is interested in understanding the determinants of a prolonged response to immunotherapy. She chose the Osler Medical Residency for its rigorous training, supportive environment, the strong sense of belonging and the many opportunities for growth. Outside of medicine, Paola enjoys baking and making bread. Undoubtedly, her favorite part is sharing the food with others. When not at work, you can catch Paola enjoying long walks along Baltimore's waterfront.

Meghan was born in Pittsburgh and grew up around the Philadelphia area with her twin sister and parents. For her undergraduate studies, she moved down to Durham, North Carolina to go to Duke University where she swam on the varsity swim team and majored in Neuroscience with a minor in Sociology. After a year of pursuing clinical research in New York, she returned to Duke University for medical school where she developed passions for both basic and clinical research, medical education, and community engagement projects with a focus on providing resources to food and housing insecure older adults. She is very excited to have couples matched with her partner, Ethan, at JHH and move to Baltimore with him and their two cats. Clinically, she is interested in Oncology or Pulmonary and Critical Care with a focus on incorporating Palliative Care into her future practice. In her free time, Meghan enjoys running, hiking, spending time outdoors, exploring new restaurants with her partner and taking care of her two cats. She thinks the best part about the Osler residency is the tight knit community and longitudinal relationships fostered by the ACS and firm system and is incredibly excited to grow with and learn from her talented, kind, and smart co-interns over the next three years.
