Nursing Leadership
Sharon Smyth, DNP, RN, CNML
A member of the executive leadership team of Johns Hopkins Bayview, Dr. Smyth holds strategic responsibility for nursing, education and hospital capacity management. Dr. Smyth also leads several health system initiatives related to integration and was most recently the accountable leader of the supplemental staffing unit and co-director of the Capacity Command Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Smyth served as the chief nursing officer for the Baltimore Convention Center Field Hospital.
Barbara Maliszewski, MSN, RN, NEA-BC
Barb Maliszewski is responsible for the integration and standardization of adult emergency care across the main emergency departments, helping to ensure effective patient care throughout the institutions and departments. She will also explore innovative approaches to clinical care that are patient-centered, cost-effective and evidence-based.
