Why I Chose Hopkins: I chose Hopkins for multiple reasons- The top factor was the program’s dedication to trainee education and cultivating well rounded clinical leaders. Secondly, I was super impressed by the diverse research projects being led by PEM faculty members, specifically, the ongoing mental health research. I knew that the opportunity for mentorship by such an outstanding group would undoubtedly help nurture my personal academic interest and career development.
Academic Interests: Improving mental health services in both acute & non-acute settings, health policy, medical education, injury prevention and innovating healthcare delivery systems.
Non-academic Interests: Running, dancing, traveling, HGTV, skating and creating priceless memories with family & friends.

Why I Chose Hopkins: I chose Hopkins because of the passionate faculty and fellows, the numerous research opportunities, and the opportunity to work with learners from many backgrounds and at different stages of their careers. Having done my residency in Baltimore, I am excited to continue to work within this city and with medically underserved populations.

Why I Chose Hopkins: I went into my virtual fellowship interview with Hopkins PEM remembering the lovely pre-COVID in-person interview day I had at Hopkins during my pediatrics residency application cycle 3 years ago. I loved the institution then and my time meeting with Hopkins PEM faculty and fellows virtually this past fall reminded me exactly why. It's the ideal environment with wonderful teachers, plenty of clinical acuity and complexity, and an atmosphere of warm collegiality. I can't wait to start my journey with new faces and challenges along the way!

Non-academic Interests: All outdoor activities, sports, reading, and spending time with family and friends

Why I chose Hopkins: After having completed my away elective at the Hopkins peds ED during residency, I immediately fell in love with the variety and diversity of the patient population seen at Hopkins. On top of that, the faculty and fellows were extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. I knew I wanted to join this wonderful environment and I am excited to work alongside them and with this community! 
Academic interests: Medical education and social determinants of health 
Non-academic interests: Travel, learning new languages, reading and spin classes

Why I chose Hopkins: I chose Hopkins because of the wonderfully genuine conversations I had with each person on my interview day. Fellows and faculty alike were engaged in getting to know my academic and non-academic interests. I loved that I was able to talk about my residency research and Top Chef in the same conversation. It's clear that the program is here to support individualized learning. And, with the wealth of Hopkins resources, anything seems possible in the next three years!
Academic Interests: Injury prevention, child abuse, adolescent and reproductive health
Non-academic Interests: DIY house renovation, Buffalo sports, most cooking or true crime shows, board games (particularly Wingspan), researching how to take care of a dog since I'm getting one shortly!

I was also so impressed with the robust and diverse research happening in the department, and how passionate the faculty was about mentorship, as well as pursuing one's interests outside of just clinical medicine.

Why I Chose Hopkins: I chose Hopkins because I wanted to work at a large trauma center where I would see a variety of pathology and be able to take care of medically complex patients under the guidance of faculty who are passionate about what they do. The faculty were so welcoming during my interview day, and I was impressed by all their fascinating research projects!

Why I Chose Hopkins: As a former resident, I truly appreciate the privilege to care for medically complex children and to learn from some of the finest physicians in the country. From general pediatrics cases to alpha traumas, the breadth and depth of clinical exposure in the Hopkins ED is remarkable! I chose Johns Hopkins because I know that the faculty and staff are committed to the development of their fellows into outstanding clinicians, researchers, and teachers. Hopkins is a special place. The care we provide to our patients, our community, and each other is a wonder to behold.

Why I Chose Hopkins: I chose Hopkins because I wanted to train in an academic environment with an abundance of resources that would help me to explore my various professional interests. During my interview day, I quickly found each faculty member I interacted with to be wholeheartedly committed to helping fellows pursue their passions. Everyone was also very friendly and welcoming making my choice even easier!
Academic Interests: Addressing the information asymmetry in medicine, healthcare administration
Non-academic interests: I enjoy going to concerts, collecting vinyl records, running, hanging out at the beach and spending time with my wife and dog!

Recent graduates have sought out both academic and community PEM positions. Some graduates have pursued additional fellowships in POCUS, sports medicine, and toxicology prior to obtaining a faculty position.
