INFECTIOUS DISEASES Lyme Disease & Tick-borne Infections

Some infectious diseases are spread through blood-feeding animals, such as ticks, which fall into the vectorborne disease category. Lyme disease is the most common vectorborne disease in North America. However, ticks can transmit other infections, including anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted fever, Powassan virus, and babesiosis. Our researchers explore ways to improve clinical diagnosis and treatment and characterize the burden of these diseases at the population level.
