INFECTIOUS DISEASES HIV/AIDS

Our researchers have worked at the forefront of HIV care, research, education, and policy since the earliest stages of the epidemic. We conduct basic, translational, and implementation research here in Baltimore and in collaboration with researchers around the world to understand the mechanisms of action, develop prevention strategies, identify effective and long-acting treatments, and address social and behavioral issues that undermine patient wellness. Our faculty serve in global leadership positions that guide HIV science, practice, and policy, and today, Johns Hopkins remains one of the leading academic HIV research institutions in the world.
