    The Johns Hopkins Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics offers a highly competitive fellowship in family planning. In line with aims of the national fellowship in Family Planning, our fellowship develops leaders in clinical care, research, education and advocacy in abortion and contraception. The fellowship is led by a core of fellowship-trained faculty with complementary interests and expertise in research and advocacy in family planning. Fellows have the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

    The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Training Program at Johns Hopkins is a clinical and research-oriented fellowship designed to provide advanced education and training in the care of the pregnant patient and her fetus, prenatal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, clinical and didactic teaching skills, and developing research skills. Our academic environment, faculty educators, case acuity, diversity and volume of complicated pregnancies provide a strong foundation for our comprehensive fellowship training program in maternal-fetal medicine.

    At the forefront of women's health care, reproductive endocrinologists at Hopkins are committed to providing excellent patient care. Members of our reproductive service are renowned for performing complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The team also includes cardiologists, urologists, adolescent gynecologists, medical endocrinologists, gynecologic pathologists, and gynecologic oncologists.

    The program offers one to two 3-year fellowship positions each year. We train abdominal-pelvic surgeons in a complete range of technical procedures, as well as clinicians well-versed in medical oncology care for women with gynecologic malignancies. Our fellowship is in excellent standing, with maximum accreditation received by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2016 and maximum accreditation by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education in 2017.

    Our fellowship is dedicated to training physicians for leadership roles in the academic practice of female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. The program includes the highest level of clinical training in the evaluation and management of complex pelvic floor disorders, preparing fellows to serve their patients and colleagues as expert consultants. We also emphasize enhancing fellows’ skills related to educating future generations of physicians and fostering the expertise and knowledge needed to conduct high-impact research.
