    The fellowship's clinical experience includes evaluation of transplant and nontransplant renal specimens using light, immunofluorescence and electron microscopy. The service evaluates 1,400-1,500 renal biopsies per year; faculty include three academic nephropathologists and a senior laboratory manager. The fellowship is designed to provide graded clinical responsibilities, including on-call coverage as the trainee gains experience.

    The Sexual Medicine fellowship program at the Brady Urological Institute is an inaugural program that was put into effect in July 2011. The program has met approval of requirements for equivalency by the Graduate Medical Education Committee of The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. It is also certified by the Sexual Medicine Society of North America.

    Each fellow will participate in adult and pediatric sleep medicine clinics at both Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Specialty sleep clinics in ENT, dental, neurology, psychiatry, behavioral psychology and pulmonary medicine will complement the fellow’s longitudinal clinic experiences. Finally, the fellow will spend substantial amounts of time working in pediatric and adult sleep laboratories, learning how to conduct, analyze and interpret sleep studies, portable monitoring studies and actigraphy.

    Each fellow will pursue a research project related to sleep medicine under the guidance of a faculty mentor. A range of projects and mentors is available in the basic sciences, translational biology, or clinical physiology and epidemiology.

    Offered in partnership with Kennedy Krieger Institute, this fellowship provides training in adult and pediatric, acute and chronic, traumatic and non-traumatic conditions affecting the spinal cord. There is a special emphasis on medical and rehabilitative interventions used to optimize and enhance neural restoration.

    Johns Hopkins’ functional neurosurgery fellowship is a one-year training program approved by the Committee on Accreditation of Subspecialty Training of the Society of Neurological Surgeons. It is a clinical- and research-based fellowship focused on advancing the trainees’ functional neurosurgical skills through the clinical and technical milestones outlined by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

    The surgical critical care residency training program is a one-year fellowship open to surgeons who have completed Johns Hopkins' or other approved general surgery training program.     The program offers one to two 3-year fellowship positions each year. We train abdominal-pelvic surgeons in a complete range of technical procedures, as well as clinicians well-versed in medical oncology care for women with gynecologic malignancies. Our fellowship is in excellent standing, with maximum accreditation received by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2016 and maximum accreditation by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education in 2017.
