    The fellowship includes one year of training accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and a second, optional, nonaccredited year concentrating on more in-depth epilepsy training with an opportunity to conduct epilepsy research. The program emphasizes diagnostic evaluation and treatment of patients with epileptic seizures, or with symptoms and signs, in the differential diagnosis of epileptic seizures. The application deadline for position beginning July 1 is January 31.

    The Johns Hopkins Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics offers a highly competitive fellowship in family planning. In line with aims of the national fellowship in Family Planning, our fellowship develops leaders in clinical care, research, education and advocacy in abortion and contraception. The fellowship is led by a core of fellowship-trained faculty with complementary interests and expertise in research and advocacy in family planning. Fellows have the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

    The Fellowship Training Program in Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at Johns Hopkins was established in 1983 and has trained over 200 physicians and research scientists. Many of our graduates have pursued exciting research and academic careers at a wide range of institutions, while others have become master clinicians and leaders in health systems. Our fellowship program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education and is physically located on the campus of the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

    The Gastroenterology Fellowship Program advances the understanding, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the gastrointestinal and liver organs. Upon completion of the training experience, trainees will have the clinical, investigative and teaching skills necessary to take a leading role in academic and clinical gastroenterology.

    The Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology Faculty Assistant Program is an advanced fellowship that provides training in diagnostic gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreatic pathology. Our case material consists of in-house specimens from Johns Hopkins, as well as cases from our active consultation service. Our faculty members provide specialty experience in gastrointestinal luminal, liver pathology, and pancreatic pathology. The faculty assistant takes full responsibility for sign-out of in-house luminal gastrointestinal biopsy material and works closely with our faculty members on consult cases. The faculty assistant also participates in clinical conferences and house staff and medical student teaching. Research is an integral part of the program and may have either a clinical or an experimental emphasis. There are multiple opportunities for collaborative studies in gastroenterology and in basic research in this and other departments.
