    We are one of the largest allergy and clinical immunology divisions in the nation with a rich 40-year history, and our fellowship program has advanced the areas of pathophysiology, allergic rhinitis, immunotherapy, asthma, food allergy, anaphylaxis, drug allergy, eosinophilia and urticaria, while training internationally recognized authorities on these topics. We pride ourselves on our translational research, as well as our work on human cell biology, genetics and genomics, and animal models of allergic and other forms of inflammation.

    The Johns Hopkins Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry (BN & NP) Fellowship Program is a two-year program accredited by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS). The fellowship is a joint effort by the Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry. The fellowship provides supervised clinical experience, a didactic program, and research opportunities. At the end of the training, fellows will be eligible to take Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry certification examination.

    Primary goals of the fellowship are to provide requisite training, supervision, and clinical experience for state liscensure and Board Certification in Behavioral Sleep Medicine by the Board of Behavioral Sleep Medicine. Fellows will participate in a weekly sleep medicine seminar with Department of Medicine, Pulmonary and Neurology sleep medicine fellows. Behavioral Sleep Medicine fellows are also expected to attend a monthly Neuroscience of Sleep Seminar.

    The Johns Hopkins Burn Center offers a one- to two-year burn fellowship with clinical experience in both acute and reconstructive burns, as well as a strong research emphasis on all aspects of burn care. The position is available to physicians who are board eligible or certified in plastic or general surgery, or those who have completed three years of general surgery training. International medical graduates are also considered with appropriate medical qualifications and ECFMG certification.

    This one-year Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-equivalent clinical fellowship provides a comprehensive training program for fellows interested in leading the field of cardiac critical care. Fellows gain an advanced fund of knowledge and specialized skills in the management of the cardiac surgery patient including ventricular assist devices, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and lung and heart transplants, emphasizing the critical nature of the patient’s recovery in the early postoperative course.

    The division of cardiothoracic surgery offers a three-year training program following completion of a surgical residency. The first year as a junior cardiac surgery fellow is evenly divided between red and blue cardiac surgery services. The second year balances general thoracic surgery service and an elective experience locally in thoracic, cardiac or endovascular surgery. The third year of the residency is spent as a chief resident in cardiac surgery and is divided between red and blue cardiac surgery services.

    The Johns Hopkins Hydrocephalus and Cerebral Fluid Center is now offering a one-year fellowship in biomarkers of cerebrospinal fluid disorders. The faculty of the program includes a multidisciplinary team of three full-time neurologists, a geriatrician, a neurosurgeon, an otolaryngologist, a neuro-ophthalmologist and two neuroradiologists.

    The fellowship program in child and adolescent psychiatry at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is designed to provide a comprehensive and broad-based education in psychiatric diagnosis and treatment of children, adolescents and their families. The program focuses on developing skill in diagnostic interviewing, case formulation, treatment planning and psychotherapeutic and pharmacologic management in the context of a strong knowledge base in child development, principles of research and familiarity with the function and organization of health, education and welfare institutions.
