We have trained over 46 fellows since 1979 from the United States and abroad. They have come from a wide cross-section of residency programs, and a few have come from private practice to start a new career. About 40 percent are now in private practice, with the other 60 percent in academic positions, including four full professors and five department chairs.

Our pediatric radiology fellow works in a one-on-one setup with the assigned pediatric radiology attendings on service to maximize the learning experience. In addition to the multidisciplinary conferences, internal divisional case conferences (two to three times a week) and journal clubs, regular continuing medical education lectures alternate weekly. The fellow is encouraged to work closely with the radiology residents that rotate in pediatric radiology to “learn as they teach” and prepare them for the next step in their career as independent pediatric radiologists.
