Physician Liaisons
The physician liaison program connects physicians and their staff with specialists and services at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg and our outpatient care locations throughout west-central Florida.
Our physician liaisons serve as the personal contacts for physicians, practice managers and staff, and can provide information and assistance, and address questions and concerns. Our team works to build positive, helpful relationships between the Johns Hopkins All Children’s team and community physicians so that children throughout the region have access to the care they need.

Pediatric Telephone Triage Program
Our telephone triage program provides assistance with after-hours patient calls. Pediatric nurses staff the triage line and answer calls during evenings, weekends and holidays, so community physicians receive fewer after-hours calls. Our triage line nurses are trained in the use of pediatric telephone triage protocols that have been developed by Dr. Barton Schmitt of Children’s Hospital Colorado. These protocols are widely accepted as the standard for telephone triage.
We provide coverage from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday to Friday, and 24-hour coverage on Saturday, Sunday and holidays. For information on the program, please contact the physician liaison for your region.
