Marla Crane Tanski, Pharm.D., MPH, MS, BCPPS
Clinical Pharmacy Manager
Dr. Tanski is the Clinical Pharmacy Manager at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) and co-precepts the Pharmacy Management elective rotation. She joined the hospital staff in 2002. Previously, she worked as the clinical pharmacy specialist at JHACH in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Tanski also serves as a responding pharmacist on the FL-3 Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) for the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) and recently completed a 6-year term as a pediatric specialist on the Pediatric Pharmacy Specialty Council for the Board of Pharmacy Specialists (BPS). Dr. Tanski received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida and completed a residency in Pharmacy Practice at the Methodist Hospitals of Memphis. She received her Master of Public Health degree from the University of South Florida and Master of Science in Pharmacy with a specialty in Applied Pharmacoeconomics from the University of Florida.

Trent Abel, Pharm.D.
General Pediatrics Clinical Specialist
Dr. Abel earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of South Florida’s Taneja College of Pharmacy. He then went on to complete a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida, followed by a PGY2 pediatric pharmacy residency at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. After completing his PGY2, Dr. Abel joined the team at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital as a general pediatrics clinical specialist. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys spending quality time with his family binge-watching TV shows, supporting local sports teams, and exploring new travel destinations.
Suzanna Bedy, Pharm.D., BCPPS
Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Specialist
Dr. Bedy is a decentralized clinical pharmacist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She joined the hospital staff in 2019. Prior to joining the hospital, she worked as a neonatal intensive care unit/pediatric clinical pharmacist at Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, followed by a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
Rachel Bruening, Pharm.D., BCPPS
General Pediatrics Clinical Specialist
Dr. Bruening received her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2018. After graduation, she completed a PGY-1 with Pediatric Emphasis at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Bruening joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in 2020 as one of the General Pediatrics Clinical Specialists. Outside of work, she enjoys fitness, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their beloved Shiba Inu.
Jary Carpenter-Branson, Pharm.D., BCPS
Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist
Dr. Carpenter-Branson received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (St. Louis College of Pharmacy) in 2021. After graduation, she completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL and served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor of Pharmacy Practice for the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins All Children's, she practiced as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine clinical pharmacist at Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers, FL. Her clinical interests include toxicology, psychiatric emergencies, and pediatric resuscitation. Outside of her work, she enjoys sporting events (St. Louis Blues and Cardinals fan), traveling, and spending time outside in nature.
Phil Carpiniello, Pharm.D., BCPS
Informatics Clinical Specialist
Dr. Carpiniello joined the hospital staff in 2018 as the Medication Safety Officer. Currently, he works remotely as a clinical pharmacy specialist in informatics for the Johns Hopkins Health System and a per diem clinical pharmacist at JHACH. Dr. Carpiniello earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency at Boston Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, followed by a PGY-2 in Medication-Use Safety at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. In his current role, Dr. Carpiniello works with all pediatric sites throughout the Johns Hopkins Health System to optimize healthcare technologies to enhance medication safety and clinical practice for all users. He is particularly interested in using the principles of Highly Reliable Organizations and Human Factors Engineering to make healthcare information systems more efficient and safer for patient care.
Megan Charlton, Pharm.D., BCPPS
NICU/CCDH Clinical Specialist
Megan Charlton earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2010 from Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy in Auburn, AL. She then completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency with a concentration in Pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, FL. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in 2020, Megan worked as the NICU Pharmacist and PGY-1 Residency Program Director at the Medical Center of Trinity in Trinity, Florida. Outside of her work, she enjoys traveling, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
JT Fannin, Pharm.D.
Ambulatory Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinical Pharmacist
Dr. Fannin received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 2014. After graduation, he completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Children’s of Alabama and a PGY-2 pediatric oncology pharmacy specialty residency at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Fannin joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in 2016 as a Hematology/Oncology/BMT decentralized clinical pharmacist. His professional interests include pediatric oncology/BMT, medical ethics, and leadership development.
Corey Fowler, Pharm.D., BCPPS
Critical Care Clinical Specialist
Dr. Fowler earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy, USC Campus in 2014. He then went on to complete a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina and PGY2 pediatric pharmacy residency at the University of Kentucky and Kentucky Children’s Hospital in Lexington. Dr. Fowler joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in 2016 as one of the decentralized critical care clinical pharmacists in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Corey’s interests include critical care, cardiac, and emergency medicine.
Amy Kiskaddon, Pharm.D., MBA, BCPPS, FCCM
Cardiac Hemostasis/Thrombosis/Antithrombotic Clinical Specialist
Dr. Kiskaddon received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. She went on to complete her pharmacy practice residency at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida and her pediatric pharmacy residency at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. Dr. Kiskaddon was the clinical pharmacy specialist for CVICU/cardiac transplant at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, before assuming her current role as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and pediatric cardiac hemostasis/thrombosis/antithrombotic clinical pharmacy specialist. Her practice and research interest areas include antithrombotic therapies in mechanical circulatory support, cardiac shunts/stents, thrombosis treatment, and thromboprophylaxis in children with congenital heart disease. Dr. Kiskaddon is Chair of the Cardiac Disease Thrombosis and Hemostasis Working Party of the Pediatric and Neonatal Thrombosis and Hemostasis Subcommittee of the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) Scientific and Standardization Committee (SSC), and is a member of the Antithrombotic Trial Working Party of the Pediatric Subcommittee of the ISTH SSC, the Antithrombotic Trials Leadership and Steering (ATLAS) Group, and serves on the Editorial Board of the American Heart Association journal Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis & Vascular Biology (ATVB).
Matthew Kuchnik, Pharm.D., BCPPS
Hematology/Oncology/BMT Clinical Specialist
Dr. Kuchnik received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. John’s University College of Pharmacy in 2020. Following graduation, he completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami and a PGY-2 oncology pharmacy residency at Children’s National in Washington, D.C. Dr. Kuchnik joined the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital pharmacy team in 2022 as a Hematology/Oncology/BMT Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, diving, cooking, and going to the gym.
Katie Litherland , Pharm.D., BCPPS
Ambulatory CF Clinical Specialist
Dr. Litherland is an ambulatory clinical pharmacist in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Center at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She joined the hospital staff in 2016. Dr. Litherland earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, followed by a PGY-1 residency at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins All Children’s, Dr. Litherland worked as a pediatric clinical pharmacist at the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital. She also worked as a compounding pharmacist at an accredited, independently-owned pharmacy.
Amanda Memken, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCPPS
Hematology/Oncology/BMT Clinical Specialist
Dr. Memken is originally from central Illinois where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Butler University in 2011. After graduation, she completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina. She then went on to pursue a PGY-2 Pediatric Specialty Residency at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she has practiced as a Hem/Onc/BMT clinical pharmacist since 2013. Amanda’s professional interests include anticoagulation, oncology, and hematopoietic stem cell transplant. Outside of work, she enjoys attending sporting events, traveling, various arts and crafts, and spending time with friends and family.
Alyssa Miles, Pharm.D., BCPPS, BCTXP
CVICU/Cardiac Transplant Clinical Specialist
Dr. Miles received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy in 2017. Following graduation, she completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency followed by a PGY2 solid organ transplant pharmacy residency at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Miles joined the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in 2021 as a decentralized clinical CVICU/Cardiac Transplant Pharmacist. Her interests include solid organ transplant, critical care, and cardiology.
Katie Namtu, Pharm.D., BCIDP
Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator, Infectious Diseases
Dr. Katie C. Namtu received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2005 from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, MA. She went on to complete her pharmacy practice residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC and her pediatric pharmacy specialty residency at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. Upon completion of her residency training Dr. Namtu was the clinical pharmacy specialist in pediatric hematology-oncology at Florida Children's Hospital in Orlando, FL before returning to Johns Hopkins All Children’s as the current pediatric infectious disease clinical pharmacy specialist and co-director of the antimicrobial stewardship program. Outside of her career, interests include her yoga practice, fitness, traveling, attending sporting events, and spending time with her son and husband.
Meghan Roddy, Pharm.D., MPH, BCPPS
Critical Care Clinical Specialist
Meghan earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe College of Pharmacy in 2015. She completed a PGY-1 residency at Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio, followed by a PGY-2 Pediatric Specialty Residency at All Children’s Hospital. Meghan serves as a PICU Clinical Specialist and preceptor of PICU rotations and the international medical mission experience. She recently obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Health with a concentration in Global Health. Her career interests include critical care, infectious disease, education, and international medical missions. Outside of work, you’ll find her at her favorite local CrossFit gym, spending time with family, or planning her next vacation!
Dayna Rommel, Pharm.D., BCPPS
Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist
Dr. Rommel received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy in 2015 during which she was an intern at MUSC Children’s Hospital. Following graduation, she completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency with a concentration in Pediatrics at Toledo Children’s Hospital in her hometown of Toledo, OH. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in 2022, Dayna worked in the NICU, PICU, and CVICU’s at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL for 5 years. Her interests include critical care, cardiac, and emergency medicine.
Alex Sanow, Pharm.D., BCPPS

Alex Sanow was born and raised in Westfield, MA but relocated to Gainesville, FL for her college education. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2020 from UF College of Pharmacy and remained at UF Health for her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency along with her PGY-2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency. Alex joined the pharmacy department at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in 2022. In her free time, she enjoys visiting with friends, relaxing at the beach, and exploring with her dog.
Jessica White, Pharm.D., BCPPS
Ambulatory BMT Clinical Specialist
Dr. White is a pharmacist in hematology/oncology/blood & marrow transplant at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She joined the hospital staff in 2018 as a clinical informatics pharmacist. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins All Children’s, she practiced as a clinical pharmacist on the critical care team at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. White earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison School of Pharmacy, followed by a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford.

Matthew Werling, Pharm.D., MBA, BCPPS
Director of Pharmacy
Dr. Werling graduated from Drake University in 2006 with his Doctor of Pharmacy degree and from Case Western Reserve University in 2013 with his MBA. He worked as a pediatric pharmacist at Cleveland Clinic Children’s before being promoted to the manager role in 2011. Dr. Werling joined the All Children’s Hospital pharmacy leadership team in June 2013 as clinical manager. Dr. Werling now serves as the department’s Director of Pharmacy. Dr. Werling’s areas of interest include medication safety, general pediatrics, and quality improvement.
