Senior Vice President of Facilities

Ms. MacConnell was born and raised in Texas. She moved to Baltimore to attend The Johns Hopkins University. She holds a BA in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins and an MBA from Loyola College.

Ms. MacConnell has been the Vice President for Facilities at The Johns Hopkins Hospital since 1987 and Johns Hopkins Health System since 1997. She is responsible for all aspects of the physical plant including: planning, design, construction, maintenance and clinical (biomedical) engineering; operation of the central power plants and utility purchases for the main Hospital and Bayview Medical Center. She oversees major capital projects for the Health System and is responsible for development of the Johns Hopkins Medicine annual capital budget.

Under Ms. MacConnell’s leadership, Johns Hopkins recently completed a 1.6 million square foot, $1.1 Billion hospital building which houses 560 beds, 30 operating rooms, 20 interventional radiology suites, 35 diagnostic imaging machines and the adult and pediatric emergency departments. The building is the new main entry to The Johns Hopkins Hospital for the remainder of the 21st century.

Ms. MacConnell served on the Board of Directors for the Life Sciences and Technology Park at Johns Hopkins which, when fully developed, will house 2 million square feet of commercial space, 2200 new and renovated housing units a new community school on an 88 acre parcel immediately north of the Hopkins Medical Campus.
