S. Andrew Banks
S. Andrew Banks is a Trustee of both Johns Hopkins International and Johns Hopkins Medicine. He and his family have established the Magic That Matters Foundation in support of medical research at Johns Hopkins.
Mr. Banks is former Chairman and a Founder of Boston-based private equity firm ABRY Partners, which has invested exclusively in the media/communications/business information sectors for over 25 years. He is also the Producer of the award winning App, ‘John Lennon: The Bermuda Tapes’. Prior to co-founding ABRY, Mr. Banks was a partner at Bain & Company where he shared responsibility for Bain’s media practice.
Having received his B.A. from the University of Florida, Mr. Banks also serves as Chairman of UFICO, the management company that invests the university’s endowment. He has an M.A. from Oxford University where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar, and he now serves as a Trustee of The Rhodes Trust. Mr. Banks also holds a J.D. from the Harvard Law School.
