As vice president of medical affairs at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Dr. Marisa Clifton has oversight of Johns Hopkins Bayview’s chairs, chiefs and medical directors, as well as additional departments on campus including community relations, credentialing, hospital epidemiology and infection control, the medical staff office, palliative care, risk management, and spiritual care and chaplaincy. She sees patients as an associate professor of urology within the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Clifton is passionate about mentoring the next generation of health care leaders, with a particular focus on helping to optimize professional relationships, prevent burnout, and improve resilience. Her research interests include medical education, patient safety and clinical outcomes after surgery.
