Vice President of Human Resources, Employee/Labor Relations, Johns Hopkins Health System
Dione Powell was named vice president of human resources, employee/labor relations, for the Johns Hopkins Health System in May 2021.
She joined the health system in 2018 as director of employee and labor relations. In that role, she oversaw the employee and labor relations team and the leave management team, and managed human resources relations for Johns Hopkins Medicine International and the Johns Hopkins Health System. During her time with the organization, she has helped set strategic directions for health system employee relations, policies and practices, assisted in creating the Just Culture program, and managed policy updates, policy changes and system integrations. In November 2020, Dione became interim executive director of Sibley Memorial Hospital. She began serving as interim vice president of human resources for Sibley and Suburban Hospitals in 2022.
As the health system’s vice president of human resources and employee/labor relations, she looks forward to embracing new responsibilities in her expanded role in the organization. She will oversee management of the HR Solution Center and advance its expansion to better provide access and solutions for managers and other employees. She also plans to continue her work with other human resources leaders and health system leadership to bring everyone together to work like one organization.
Dione is a board member of the Chesapeake Human Resources Association and she leads its Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
