Dr. Brian Matlaga is the executive medical director of clinical affairs for Johns Hopkins Medicine International, the global ambassador of Johns Hopkins Medicine. In this role, he serves as the medical liaison between Johns Hopkins Medicine International and its international clients, aligning projects with the Johns Hopkins Medicine tripartite mission of patient care, research and education. Dr. Matlaga also oversees Johns Hopkins Medicine International’s knowledge-transfer activities, clinical case consultations and clinical program development with its global affiliates.
Dr. Matlaga is also a professor of urology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, holding various leadership positions such as the director of the Stephens Center for Stone Disease and the executive vice chair of the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute. He is an internationally recognized expert in the medical and surgical management of urinary stone disease.
Dr. Matlaga's research boasts over 180 peer-reviewed publications and an H-Index above 60, garnering national and international recognition through various accolades. Dr. Matlaga also serves on numerous editorial boards, advisory committees and guidelines panels, such as those for the American Urological Association, the American Board of Urology, the Endourological Society and the National Institutes of Health.
