Research Summary
Dr. Sikder has built a research laboratory focused on building a platform that uses deep learning algorithms to analyze surgical videos to assess surgeon performance. This assessment provides a skill analysis and personalized feedback for individual surgeons. This feedback can be benchmarked against peers and tracked over time with an objective set of measures and does not require the manual review of surgical videos.

Outstanding level of data gathering on cataract development and current vision status. She is a top surgeon and not at all pushing cataract removal until I feel it is necessary. It is how comfortable I am with the vision level. As a toxicologist and safety scientist with NIH and a contributor to eye, dermal and radiation safety I applaud her level of evaluation and concern for my analysis of how and when to do the treatment so I am part of the process. Not pushing the procedure until I felt it was at a point to go.

Dr. Sikder did cataract surgery on my right eye Oct 7. She is very smart, experienced, competent, cares for her patients and wants them to have a good experience. She was very informative for many, many months prior to this in explaining why it was too early to perform the surgery and, when it was the right time, why it was the right time. I feel fortunate to have been referred to her and her practice by my opthamologist, Dr. [ ]
