Dr. Gire has been my eye care provider for 3-4 years. She is highly competent and professional, and she is well acquainted with my vision history. She has an excellent patient manner with me. She explains thoroughly at my level of understanding (which is also pretty thorough). I count myself as lucky to have been directed to her care when we moved our eye care to Wilmer Institute.

No nurses/assistants. The answers were for the receptionist who was very cold and seemed to have a negative attitude

Extremely knowledgeable. Provided simple solutions to the issue and wasn't quick to prescribe medication. I appreciate a provider that does that.

Dr Gire always makes you feel comfortable. She explains procedures and tests at a simple level without talking down to me. I feel she is expert in her field and confident of the treatments she recommends. One thing that stood out on my first visit with Dr Gire is that she had reviewed my medical records.

Although I was able to get an appointment the day I called in (don't know if it was due to a cancelation or just an opening),the provider seemed rushed. Since I am older, I like to be able to ask if something could be repeated.

Dr. Gire is an excellent doctor who has given me the best care. My eyes have several conditions chief among them dryness which results in other more urgent issues. Dr. Gire started me on daily regimen to reduce the dryness and offer relief. She's gives thorough complete explanations, she's compassionate, warm, and caring. She's the best.

I like Dr. Gire, but at this appointment I felt she had no idea what was happening with my eye...and then prescribed a $75 ointment that wasn't strictly necessary (it was for itching that might have just been allergies and not related to my primary complaint).
