Dr. David Cohen is an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include spine and back disorders, spinal injuries and cervical degenerative disc disease and injury.

Dr. Cohen earned his M.D. from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and his M.P.H. from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. He completed his residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and performed a fellowship in Spinal Reconstructive Surgery at Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Cohen’s research interests include scoliosis, spinal deformities, patient safety, clinical outcomes studies, vertebral augmentation and the development of a large animal osteoporosis model.

Dr. Cohen’s research focuses on clinical outcomes in spinal surgery and spinal deformities and disorders in adults. He studies osteoporosis and scoliosis, as well as the benefits of vertebral augmentation procedures for treating vertebral compression fractures.

          Dr. Cohen is totally invested in providing the care that you need all hands down. He is giving of himself and the knowledge that he shares with his patients. I feel to me that back surgery is the scariest surgery of all surgeries. He is totally invested in what he does and so willing to share his expertise and knowledge to other doctors that has the same drive as he does to help other people to make their lives better.Dr. Cohen is so selfless of his time and his extreme intelligence to help as many patients.
