About Julia Timofeev
Background
Dr. Timofeev is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine. She has completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, followed by fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.
During her fellowship, she researched preterm birth and prematurity, delayed umbilical cord clamping, and the effects of advanced maternal age on pregnancy outcomes. She has special interest in prenatal genetics and is currently an Assistant Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
She served as a Young Physician member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist (ACOG) Committee on Genetics and is currently a member of the ACOG Committee on Obstetric Practice. Dr. Timofeev has also lectured on the management of diabetes at the ACOG annual clinical meetings. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
