- The research activities of the Neuroimmunopathology Laboratory focus on studies of immunological and molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of neurological disorders. Our main areas of research include studies of neurological complications of HIV infection and AIDS, multiple sclerosis, transverse myelitis, autism and epilepsy. We seek to explore and identify immunopathological mechanisms associated with neurological disease that may be the target of potential therapeutic interventions. The laboratory collaborates with other researchers and laboratories at Johns Hopkins and other institutions in projects related with studies of the interaction between the immune and central nervous systems in pathological processes leading to neurological dysfunction.

My experience with Dr. Pardo Villamizar was excellent. It was clear he had reviewed all my medical paperwork before the appointment. Before giving me his diagnosis, Dr. Pardo confirmed the diagnosis with a neurosurgeon and he also arranged for me to meet with that neurosurgeon the same day.

Dr is very kind and knowledgeable with our visits. Our main concern is that we have a very hard time communicating with him through the portal when we have questions or problems even with calls to office, they are very difficult to get ahold of and answers to questions or problems that occur with my new diagnosis of MS. Understand they are busy but if I am a patient of theirs and need help and answers would like to be able to reach out to provider or office when I need help and that takes weeks to get answers back.
