The Academy at Johns Hopkins supports the continued research, teaching and service of retired faculty of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.

What happens when faculty members — many of whom have devoted their entire professional careers to Johns Hopkins Medicine — decide to retire? Meet five longtime faculty members whose contributions as mentors, researchers and more offer a whole new window into what it means to be “retired.”

Sending "A Ray of Hope"Retired Faculty Support Henderson-Hopkins School’s Neighborhood Grocery Drive

When the Henderson-Hopkins School began hosting a weekly food distribution for its East Baltimore community in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ginny Corson took notice. Corson, the volunteering committee co-chair of The Academy, helped organize a fundraiser: with gifts from nearly 40 percent of its 117 members, the Academy raised more than $25,000 for the Henderson-Hopkins Emergency Programming Fund.
